Welfare/Social Work Unit -Thumbnail

  • Help clients enlarge their competence and increase their problem solving and coping abilities.
  • To link service personnel and their families with systems which provide them with resources, services and opportunities.
  • To identify those factors in the unit that maybe necessary to change or correct that is the cause of welfare problems in the unit and make recommendations to CDS, as to solve those problems, in order to meet the needs of All ranks.Liaison with other social agencies. To provide information and advice, pertaining to resettlement training, housing, education, career opportunities and life after the service

Chaplain Unit - Provides the necessary religious support amongst the members of the Force and their families through:

  • Counseling; Pre-marital, Post-marital and Bereavement counseling.
  • Hospitals, Homes and Prison visits.
  • Prayer meetings.
  • Religious instructions, "Padre Hour."
  • Officiate at weddings and funerals.

Substance Abuse Unit - Provides counseling to Addicts and their families.

  • Develops preventative programs on addiction.
  • Sensitizes clients on addiction.

CLICO Group Health Unit - Provides the necessary information and

Assistance to the members of the Force and their families in regards to the Defence Force Group Health Plan and its policies and Credit Union.
