Recruitment:

The Defence Force Reserves recruiting drive is aimed at bringing the Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force Reserves up to its full strength. Reserve recruits are required to cover the same basic training syllabus as members of the regular force.

Training:

Recruits training for a period of six (6) weekends (Saturday and Sunday) and a twenty-one (21) days living in Camp.

All recruits undergo a rigorous, physical and mentally demanding recruit training in keeping with the standards set by the Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force

The subjects cover on the syllabus during the training are:

  • Drill
  • Weapon Training
  • Range Work (live fire)
  • Physical Training
  • Signals
  • Map Reading
  • First Aid
  • Field Craft
  • Tactics
  • Military Law
