PORT SECURITY

In March 2004,  initial surveys were conducted by MSSPFSU personnel  at forty-nine (49) Port Facilities in Trinidad and Tobago and it was identified that thirty (30) of these Port Facilities were required to be ISPS compliant. The process required theThumbnailindentified Port Facilities to conduct a Risk Analysis and Threat Assessment of theirrespective Port Facilities. This was submitted to the Designated Authority for approval,once approved,the Port Facility was notified to have a Port Facility Security Plan done based on their assessment.The thirty (30) Port Facilities Security Plans were prepared and submitted. A physical inspection of the Port Facilities and audit were conducted by the MSSPFSU personnel and all thirty (30) Port Facilities Security Plans were approved. The Port Facilities were issued with their STATEMENT OF COMPLIANCE CERTIFICATION by the deadline date of 1 July 2004 for the implementation of SOLAS Chapter XI-2 and the ISPS Code by the MSSPFSU. .
